I am a chartered accountant and a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).
With over 40 years of experience, I have a wealth of knowledge and understanding of and insight into accounting and business practice. I am passionate about nurturing successful client relationships, delivering quality services and providing effective solutions to client issues. I particularly enjoy sitting down with clients to assess their business goals, advising them on potential challenges and pitfalls and setting in motion the development of a system to help them reach these goals. I also ensure that the practice operates according to the standards set by the ICAEW as well as current legislation.
Previously I was the Senior Partner of an accounting and auditing practice in South Africa. Our firm had a wide portfolio of clients including a variety of businesses, charities and private individuals. I was responsible for all aspects of the practice, including leading on client relationships, mentoring and training junior accountants, business development and quality assurance.
My 11 years in the public sector in the UK were spent in making improvements to the processes used to recover costs from customers. These improvements have already had, and will in future have, a significant positive effect on budgets.
I enjoy spending time with my wife and wider family, particularly my grandchildren, taking walks and keeping fit at the gym. I am also actively involved in my local church.
